This is a continuing series of profiles on the folks behind the crates at the Savannah Record Fair.

Tim Harris recently moved to Lynchburg, Va, after 25 years in Washington, D.C. Tim’s bringing records from a variety of genres including “reggae, international, incredibly strange, childrens, soundtracks, spoken word, private press, school bands, gospel, Latin, jazz and folk” in a variety of formats along with “record-related paper and art.”

Tim started collecting Beatles records as a kid growing up in Detroit, studied mass communications and worked in radio. He worked as a sales manager for a reggae label for 15 years, owns a small reissue-label and has “traveled around the world selling unusual vinyl since 1997.”

Elf Power to headline free Savannah Record Fair/BandWagon concert

Big news! Athens’ Elf Power will headline a block party concert sponsored by the Savannah Record Fair, BandWagon and SEED Eco Lounge on April 16. The location? Montgomery Street will be closed between Congress and Broughton streets for this free outdoor show. Opening act Listen! Listen! goes on at 8 p.m. The event will also feature live art by audio/visual artist Matthew Akers. Stay tuned for more details.
