WINNER! Spring 2013 Savannah Record Fair Poster Contest

SRF Spring -01Congratulations to Dustin Dahlman, the winner of our Spring 2013 Savannah Record Fair poster contest. Dustin’s winning design will be featured on the advertising for the fair, which will be April 20-21, 2013 at the May Poetter Gallery (342 Bull Street).

Since Dustin has been the winner of our last two SRF poster contests, we decided to find out a little more about him.

  1. Where are you from?

    The land of cheese, beer, and chunky women, Wisconsin

  2. How did you get interested in graphic design?

    I put the jobs Sleeping bag tester, professional witch doctor, bed warmer, waffle house employee and graphic design in a hat and I picked waffle house employee but I didn’t like that so graphic designer I am.

  3. How did you get the idea for this poster?

    Devine Intervention/ Jebus

  4. Do you prefer vinyl, cassette, 8-track, CD, or mp3?

    I like old records, they remind me of a time when mustaches where classy and finger snappin was a sexy dance.

  5. Who is your favorite band right now?

    Arcade Fire

  6. What’s you favorite sandwich?

    Knuckle

  7. If you could only drink one thing for a month, what would it be?

Spring 2013 Savannah Record Fair Poster Contest

Did you enjoy the Fall 2012 Savannah Record Fair so much you have to tell others about it? Then do it with a poster! We’re now accepting entries for the Spring 2013 Savannah Record Fair poster contest. The winning design will be featured on all of our advertising for the Spring 2013 Savannah Record Fair, and the winner will receive a Savannah Record Fair t-shirt, 5 CDs from our prize bin, and a super-cool *mystery prize*!

Posters must be:

  • 11″ x 17″ (may be portrait or landscape)
  • 300 dpi
  • .pdf format (please retain original files, you will need to submit these if chosen as the winning design)

E-mail all submissions to radio@scad.edu. Entries must be received by 11:59 p.m. on November 30, 2012. For information about the Savannah Record Fair, check out the event website or Facebook page.

Win Tickets to VOODOO in New Orleans!

Would you like to rock out to Metallica, Jack White, Neil Young & Crazy Horse, Skrillex, Justice, and nearly 100 other bands in the heart of New Orleans, LA? SCAD Radio, in conjunction with the Savannah Record Fair, is giving you a chance to win a pair of tickets to the 14th annual Voodoo Experience!

The Voodoo Experience, one of the last big festivals of the year, is a three-day music and arts festival held every Halloween weekend in City Park located in New Orleans, LA. This year’s festival is scheduled for October 26-28.

To be entered for your chance to win, fill out an entry form at one of this week’s live remote events at “The Hive” featuring Record Bear (October 15 & 18, 4:30-8:30 p.m.) or at the Savannah Record Fair on October 20. You can also enter online by leaving a comment on this post with your NAME, E-MAIL ADDRESS, AND PHONE NUMBER (phone numbers will not be made public). Entries not containing all required information will be considered invalid.

At 4:00pm at the Savannah Record Fair, three finalists will be selected at random from the entries received and will compete for the final prize of two (2) tickets to The Voodoo Experience. Finalists MUST BE PRESENT to win. In the event that a finalist is not present when his/her name is drawn, he/she will be disqualified and a replacement finalist will be chosen at random. The winner is responsible for all transportation expenses to/from New Orleans, LA and for lodging arrangements while at the festival. SCAD Radio staff/DJs are not eligible to win. The decisions of the SCAD Radio staff regarding the winner are final.

Fall 2012 Savannah Record Fair

The Fall 2012 Savannah Record Fair is quickly approaching! The fair is October 20, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the May Poetter Gallery (342 Bull Street).

This past spring, we held a poster contest to find a fresh look for this fall’s Record Fair. Dustin Dahlman, an incoming SCAD freshman, submitted the winning design:
